My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chicken Little

11 months

Chihuahua

Good with dogs

Good with respectful kids

Hello! I'm Chicken Little. I know that sounds like a really funny name, but one of the kind volunteers at Power of the Paw named Ashlyn gave me that name when she sprung me from doggy jail. She said I was very fearful and trembled so much that I seemed  to act like the sky was falling! I ended up at the Post Falls holding facility and my owners never came for me. My time there was very scary for me and although I can't tell you all that I saw in my first few months of life, I can tell you it wasn't nice. Raised voices and quick movements used to make me wanna jump outta my skin and run away!

Now that I've been in a nice, quiet foster home, and around other dogs, I have learned to be brave. My goofy, playful puppy within is now safe to show others. I really like other dogs and would do best in a home that has a gentle and kind dog that can play with me and show me the ropes. I really like having a fur brother or sister to help me feel brave.

Foster mom has to work and so when she's gone I do well to just hang out in my kennel - it's a really safe place to go while you're away. At night I can snuggle in bed if you'd like or go to sleep in my kennel - whatever you please. I'm obedient with just a gentle correction and I quickly learn the rules. But I am still just a puppy and still have an accident or two if I'm not reminded to go outside for potty; so, a family or person who is patient with me and gentle would be just the best.

One of my favorite things to do is hang out in the warm sunshine and bathe in its warmth. Do you have a nice yard or porch where I can lay in the sunshine? If you do that would be so great! So, pick me, cute Chicken Little, you won't regret it.
