My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This precious little lady is named Maggey. She was found in Jacksonville, with her friend Dexter curled up together taking a nap. Even though she was a "stray" we think that she and Dexter were someone's loved pets. Her nails were clipped, her coat was clean and she is very well socialized. Despite all that, the dozens of "Found Dogs" signs and an ad in the paper, no one ever came forward to claim them. Now Maggey and Dexter are in CAPS care and awaiting for a second chance to become someone's new family pet.

Maggey is around 9 months old, she loves children, is great with other dogs and getting to know about cats. She is crate trained and will be going to the vet soon to be spayed and has already had all of her vaccines and tested negative for heartworms. She at times shows some very puppy behaviors though, like getting excited to see her mom when she walks in the door, jumping up a bit and sometimes chewing things she shouldn't when she isn't supervised. Maggey is a little girl only weighing 28lbs. we think she is about as big as she will get. Her exact breed is anyone's guess, with her short coat, half flopped ears and adorable black and white freckles she could be a number of different breeds. Whatever she is, the combination has created a wonderful friendly young lady who will make some lucky family or person a great canine companion!

Maggey is scheduled to be spayed the first week in December. She will not officiall be ready for adoption until she recovers from the surgery.

Maggey is scheduled to be spayed December 17th. She will not officially be ready for adoption until she recovers from the surgery.
