Peluche's Story...
Playful, funny and intelligent, Peluche, a long-haired Dachshund mix, is black and tan and weighs about 15 pounds. He is nearly 2 years old and is looking for a loving home with a family who has the time and patience to bring out his potential. Sometimes dog aggressive, he gets along with many of his kind but needs to meet a potential "brother" or "sister" prior to adoption. He is perky, energetic, busy and sweet with adults but is not suitable for young children. He has shown signs of giving chase to cats, so he would be best in a family without feline companions. He needs work with house training and is a marker. However, with his desire to please and his love of treats, we think this behavior can be cured. Please see our schedule of Saturday adoption sites on our home page. This dog cannot be adopted out of state. If you are interested in Peluche, please call Penny Adams at 619-466-0426.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Peluche, a Spring Valley Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Spring Valley, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Spring Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Spring Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Spring Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Spring Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
