Our blanket loving, nap taking, big ole bundle of love giving dog Holmes is ready for his next adventure and he’s hoping your family can provide that for him! Holmes is a gorgeous yellow lab who lives up to his hype in every way possible. We are pretty sure there’s nothing in this world that Holmes doesn’t love. He loves going for walks -- especially when there’s a bird or two in his path! He really loves his blankie. He takes it with him everywhere (even outside, but hey, who can argue with a face like his?). And most importantly, he loves people. He’s not afraid to nuzzle his big pink nose into your lap and give you extra kisses when you rub his belly. Every new person he meets falls in love with his gentle demeanor.
Holmes sleeps well in his kennel and has had no accidents at his foster parent’s house. He’s starting to learn some pretty neat tricks, too! He gets along great with other dogs, especially his dynamic duo mate, Watson. We haven't yet introduced him to cats; most likely he would just want to play. We truly cannot say enough great things about him and love to show him off every chance we get! Holmes would love to meet you and hopes you fill out an application to meet him!
Holmes was rescued from a high intake rural outdoor shelter in Southeastern Missouri where he was on death row. There is no adoption program there, his only way out was to be rescued. Dolly's Legacy is honored to have saved his life and have promised him a happy home.
Holmes is a Yellow Labrador Retriever, weighs 70 lbs, and is estimated at 2 yrs old. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative & dewormed. Adoption fee is $275. Holmes was provided life-saving treatment for heartworm disease. He will need to remain on heartworm preventative for life, as is recommended for ALL dogs.
