Charlie's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Charlie's Story...
Charlie is a 4-5 year old dachshund/min-pin mix and weighs about 20 pounds. This lil' turkey is very affectionate toward his people and prefers to sleep on the "human bed." He is confident and needs an owner to be a strong leader. He has some food guarding issues and needs an experienced handler! He is good with other dogs and children. He has a lot of spring in his step and can get over gates and low fences! Due to the overwhelming response to Charlie, we ask that you FIRST fill out an application at www.harttn.org (under get involved tab). We will review all applicants and contact those who would be a good fit for him. TIA.

For more info, please fill out an adoption application at www.harttn.org (under the "get involved" tab. Due to the wave of emails we receive, we can only respond to those who fill out an application first.

All HART dogs are fully vetted prior to adoption. This means spayed/neutered, vaccinated, HW tested, on prevention and microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Charlie, a Hermitage Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher for sale in Hermitage, or seeking a Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher dog from a breeder in Hermitage.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hermitage already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hermitage breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher breeders who help with Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hermitage paves the way for another one to be saved.
