Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Fluffy is a beautiful long hair, black and white female. She is a senior cat, and was previously owned by a senior citizen. Her owner had to go into a nursing home, and Fluffy was left at the owner's residence, cared for by care givers, for 8 months. They had hoped her owner would return home, but that was not the case. She was full of fleas, and had skin issues because of all the flea bites. We believe because she was used to her owner being with her continuously every day, she has had to learn to adjust to a new environment, and social skills. We do not have a lot of previous personality, or history on her.
Fluffy can be a bit temperamental. She is finally allowing us to brush her, pet her, love on her, and she pats our leg for her treats! She has free reign in our infirmary and is not longer needing to be caged. She loves to sit in the windows! She has come quite a ways from the kitty we first met. We have been working with her since March of 2017, and she still isn't interested in being picked up, and we believe if given the right environment and patience, she would become a lap cat.
She will require an experienced, patient, ONLY CAT, quiet home, adopter. She is going to require someone willing to invest time in her. She has been through an awful lot. We do not recommend her to be adopted into a home with other cats, small children or dogs. She was estimated to have been born March of 2006.
Fluffy was previously spayed and front declawed, we have tested her for feline leukemia, FIV, fully vaccinated her for rabies, distemper and leukemia, wormed and treated for fleas.
We do require a veterinarian reference prior to scheduling an adoption appointment. We do contact the reference to verify we are adopting our kitties into loving responsible forever homes. We also require a cat carrier be brought to the adoption appointment for secure transport home.
We are looking for a senior foster home for her. She is one of our Senior to Senior program available kitties.
