Rocko's Story...
What a handsome guy Rocko is! He is truly an All-American dog because a DNA test revealed he is a mix of many breeds – Boston Terrier, Standard Shorthair Dachshund, Australian Shepherd, German Wirehaired Pointer and Japanese Chin!! Wow! We now his for sure – he is also mixed with sweetness and smiles! Rocko is house-trained and crate-trained. Rocko would do great in an active home as he enjoys play and is a higher energy guy! He knows basic commands such as sit, stay, wait and paw. Rocko is playful and good with kids. He has also been around cats and does well with them. Rocko is about 5 years old as of June 2017 and weighs about 65 pounds. He is up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered heartworm tested and microchipped. Rocko is a surrender to our rescue as his guardians could no longer care for him. Rocko has spent time in a home so he is just waiting to transition to your home where we can spend the rest of his life! If you would like to give Rocko a home, please visit our website at ITVrescue.org for an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocko, a Evansville Mixed Breed (Large) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mixed Breed (Large) for sale in Evansville, or seeking a Mixed Breed (Large) dog from a breeder in Evansville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Evansville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Evansville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mixed Breed (Large) breeders who help with Mixed Breed (Large) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Evansville paves the way for another one to be saved.
