My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This handsome newbie is Rex and even though he is a new guy, we do have quite a lot of information about him. A family moved in to their new home 6 months ago and apparently, it came with a doberman! The previous owners moved out and left their dog behind. The new family actually had a Dobie of their own so they welcomed Rex into the family. They really tried to make things work but with kids, traveling for work and other challenges, Rex just couldn't get the attention he needed. He is apparently housebroken, obedience trained (at least a little), incredibly dog social and great with kids. The family had no previous history so we are guessing his age at around 4...maybe 5. We got him neutered and had a small growth removed (biopsy results are pending but the vet felt confident they got it all out) so he will be ready to find a new home. He does have 2 "flaws" that will require the right home. The owner said that Rex is capable of jumping a 6 ft fence in order to follow his loved ones but he would only do it if he saw them leave. The other is that Rex is quite needy. He cries when he feels left out and would rather be with his family. We think some of his behavior is heightened because he is confused right now and unsure of his surroundings. He needs a home that can not only make him a part of the family but also, help him gain some confidence and independence so he can be comfortable when alone too. Another dog to buddy around with would certainly be ideal as well. Rex is recovering from his surgery this week in a foster home but he will be at the rescue in Fillmore, ca this Saturday for adoptions. Come out and meet this charming boy! Any questions?
