My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ok, we just met this guy 6/18 and we're madly in love already! We just can't call him Junior (the name he came with). Why, you ask? Because he's just such a happy little dude. We're going to call him Mr. Happy Pants because we feel like that name is going to give you an idea of the vibe he puts off. Seriously, hit by a car, neglected for a week afterward, leg rotting off, followed by amputation and several weeks at the vet's office and he comes out of this like a total charmer! Talk about an uplifting little dude. He just makes his foster mom want to smile.

He's a low rider like a Dachshund, but bigger in stature. His coat is reminiscent of a Black Lab (right down to his sturdy tail) but his face has a bit of scruffiness on it like a Terrier. OMG he's just adorable. Yes, I'm gushing. A very experienced foster mom who's seen it all and this guy just makes me want to gush. LOL

He met all the dogs in our pack like a charmer and then claimed first the couch and then the XL orthopedic dog bed we have for our senior Husky (who prefers the cool floor in the summer months). He's just so sweet and low key. What an unassuming happy dog! He will brighten anyone's day with his happy tail wags and bounce in his step.

We haven't cat tested him yet. Will update his bio once we know how he feels about our cat and how our cat feels about him.

Here's the info we got in advance and what convinced us to take him in: Tripod needs new home! Junior was hit by a car several weeks ago. The owner waited a week after he was hit to vet him. I saw the leg he lost. It was rotting off. The owners couldn't pay the bill so surrendered him to rescue. Cat friendly - they have a cat running loose at the vet. He is about 30 lbs. Total lover. Perfect dog really. Good with all dogs. Very submissive. See video.
