Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Frederick-- Fred for short. Fred and his sister Wilma came to us from the home where they were born. So we know their mother is a black and tan shepherd mix, with blue eyes. From his looks, Fred's father might be a black lab, but there is no way to know for sure. Fred just turned 9 weeks old and weighs 10 pounds. Our best guess is he will be a large dog when fully grown, but only those willing to take pot luck in terms of his ultimate breed and size should apply!
Fred has typical puppy energy, and loved playing with kids and other dogs at his first foster home. He is very well socialized, and on his way to being house-trained. Because he is so young Fred will need a family where someone is home most or all of the day to keep him on a regular schedule for potty training, keep him socialized and exercised, and take him to puppy obedience classes when he is old enough.
You can meet Frederick at his current foster home-- Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road in Wilmette--during normal store hours (847-251-6750, wilmettepetcenter.com). Although he is so sweet you will want to take him home on the spot, please note you will have to submit an application (available by emailing info@adoptapet-il.org or calling 847-550-9690. For a faster response, we suggest you email with your questions or for an application.)
Frederick's adoption fee of $375 includes: vet exam, bordetella vaccination, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, routine deworming, flea/tick preventative, heartworm preventative, microchip and neuter.
