My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you are looking for a loving companion, this WILSON is much better than any old volleyball. He is a sweet, gentle boy who is learning that life is going to be okay now that he is with Rover Rescue. He knows what it is like to be a "castaway". He was a stray dog in Southern Indiana, but he was already neutered when he was found. He had to have had an owner at some point in time. I don't understand why his family didn't come looking for this faithful friend. He is very patient and has lain for hours letting me brush and bath him. I don't think his coat had ever seen any type of grooming tool. I don't know if he would admit it, but I think he enjoyed all the attention. His black coat is now shiny and he has the cutest black and white chest and paws. The very tip of his tail is white. It has been a stumbling block to try and identify his breed(s). The long snout has been the hardest to guess. The consensus has been a Lab/ Blue Tick Coonhound Mix. He has been very quiet so I don't know if he has the song of the hound or not. He weighed 53 pounds at the vet office and was estimated at 2 years old. He has gotten along really well with the other dogs in the house. He seems to be very submissive. He does enjoy running and playing in the backyard, but then can be found curled up in a ball on the couch for a good snooze. There are not young children in his foster home, but I think he would do well with people of all ages. He knows not to jump and he has really good manners. He has had a few urine accidents since arriving recently, but seems to be getting adjusted to the new schedule. His canine siblings are a help and he follows their lead. He is not crazy about his crate and will complain when first put into his safe haven. Due to this fact, he may not be a good candidate for a town home or apartment resident. WILSON is still new to his foster home and is still figuring things out. He is pretty shy at this time, but I have a feeling his true personality will start coming out now that he knows that he is loved and safe. If you are looking for a personal pal that will always listen and never judge, please call WILSON'S foster mom, Darla, at 630-406-9405. Life is just better with a best friend. The adoption fee for WILSON is $200 and includes his microchip and up to date vetting.
