Shannell's Story...

Ready, set, go is what this young girl's all about!  Shannell is a young, female Bluetick Coonhound (approximately 2 years old) who is a real darling.  She loves to play, is very gentle and gives gentle kisses.

Very puppy-like, she would do best at this time with someone who has time and patience to devote to help Shannell learn the ropes.  She definitely needs lots of exercise/runs/walks and would certainly do quite well with another dog or older children who are capable of playing for longer periods of time.  She is doing excellent using her crate, with no barking at all.

Not only is she pretty, Shannell is quite smart!  She is naturally very curious about EVERYTHING! Her foster family are currently working on her manners, and she is showing to be a very fast learner.

As a young dog, it is important for any potential adopter to recognize and understand that Shannell will require your solid commitment to nurturing her good manners and making a connection with you via Training/Obedience Classes. With your gentle and consistent guidance to direct her youthful energy appropriately, Shannell will make a SUPER family companion.

Please Note:    We are all volunteers and busy taking care of our foster dogs so please take the time to fill out our on-line adoption application if you are interested in more information about any of the hounds that we have for adoption. Filling out our application does not obligate you to adopt in any way. It does, however, help us to determine if the dog that you are interested in would  be a good match for you family and lifestyle.

All of our dogs are fully vetted. They have been vaccinated, altered, microchipped and heartworm tested and on prevention.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shannell, a Ontario Bluetick Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bluetick Coonhound for sale in Ontario, or seeking a Bluetick Coonhound dog from a breeder in Ontario.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ontario already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ontario breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bluetick Coonhound breeders who help with Bluetick Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ontario paves the way for another one to be saved.
