My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Oscar, a very handsome 19-month-old mix of Labrador Retriever and Shar Pei in need of a new address due to a work transfer. This 81-pound puppy has all the basics down pat, having attended two levels of classes at Guides Canins in St-Lazare with his former owner. Oscar is a friendly, happy-go-lucky kind of guy with tons of energy, so please don’t apply if you’re looking for a couch potato. He’s used to living with a couple without children, so we will only consider a home with older children since this pup sometimes doesn’t know how big he is. Oscar will need an active family with lots of room for him to play and burn off energy. He’s already been introduced to the pool at his foster home (yes, our dogs in foster care have it rough!), which appeals to the Lab in him. During the winter months, Oscar was also used to accompanying his people when they went cross-country skiing. Suffice to say, Oscar is the outdoorsy type and would not be happy in a downtown apartment. Oscar is walking well with the Easy Walk harness we bought for him, and is also a very pleasant passenger in the car. He did great meeting new dogs and people at his first adoption day, and adjusted right away at his foster home—including with the cat. An overall very nice and well brought up young dog, Oscar will make a wonderful companion for the right adopter. If interested, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website.
