A SECURE FENCED YARD IS REQUIRED

Katie, a very cute mahogany sable, came to KCSR as a stray.  We have do not know how long she was loose on the streets, but is still very frightened of being outside in new places.  After less than a week in her foster home, she grew accustomed to the backyard, and now happily spends time outside, keeping a close watch on the neighborhood activities.  She is still very skittish when we go outside to the front of the house, and will try to get loose to run back inside.  A patient owner will need to work slowly with Katie to help her overcome her fears in new outdoor situations.  Katie is approx. two years old and 24 lbs., housetrained, gets along well with other dogs and is very playful.  She loves to play fetch!  Initially shy like some Shelties, she warms up quickly and is quite inquisitive.  Katie will only be placed into a "fur"ever home in the Kansas City area.
