My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! My name is Sweet William, and I am a handsome, affectionate buff-tabby-and-white fella who was born about June 2015. I am such a LOVER BOY!!! I purr constantly, eat voraciously, and beg for petting!! I particularly like my foster mom to run her fingernails up and down my backbone, under my neck, and behind my ears! I have never had my ears rubbed nor my tail scratched before going into foster care, so I am in ecstasy! I also like my foster mom to coo over me in her high-pitched 'kitty-only' voice.
I'm a fun-loving dude who loves to play with balls, bottle corks, and chip-bag clips. In my more peaceful moments, I like sitting by the window and 'talking' to the birds, lizards, and feral cat I see. I'm an affectionate boy who prefers to sleep on my foster mom instead of beside her.
Believe it or not, I had rather hardscrabble beginnings before I came into her foster care. I had been living at a trailer park where I had gotten into several nighttime altercations with other un-neutered toms. A nice lady let me briefly come inside her trailer and fed me. She had a cute little intact female, and I had a blast fathering two litters of kittens. The second litter set this lady in a panic, so that's when Buster's Friends came in to neuter me, vaccinate me, and have me tested for FeLV/ FIV. Thank heavens I was negative!
I am so sweet and social that I certainly didn't need to be released back into the trailer park. So my foster mom stepped up to bring me to live safely inside full-time and be the recipient of all of her TLC. It was a learning curve, at first, for me to adjust to living strictly indoors. I used to be petrified of the ceiling fan, vacuum cleaner, blow dryer, and outside noises. Plus I would run and hide under the bed when her little munchkin preschool grandchildren came to visit.
However, my foster mom was patient with me, and after only a week, I let her grandsons pet me. In less than 3 weeks, I jumped on her bed to sleep with her even when the ceiling fan was whirling above! All I needed was some 'time and love' in order for my craving for people's affection to overcome my skittish fears of the unknown and the brand-new!
Now that I have adjusted to my foster home almost completely, I will await finding my forever, lifetime home. I have so much love to give and am so laid-back and friendly that I am confident that I will fit into many families.
Sweet William is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for his indoor-only home. No de-clawing permitted. His adoption fee is $100, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Sweet William, and we can let you know exactly where you can meet him.
