Lakota is a wonderful pup! She is friendly with people and loves all dogs big and small. Lakota is also very sweet and gentle when she meets strangers. She is a submissive girl with both humans and dogs. Lakota is now in an experienced foster home where she gets some basic obedience training started. She is living with 50 other rescued dogs. She loves playing with other dogs and learns to share everything from food to toys to affection. Lakota walks well on leash and do well in car rides.

Lakota’s Rescue Story

Lakota was rescued along with his 4 siblings. They were living as homeless puppies even though her canine mother was owned by someone. Poor mama dog was owned by irresponsible owners who chained her up and had barely any proper food and water. Poor pups were left to starve and never got any proper care and they stayed close to their loving mom. A kind volunteer was in the area and luckily the owners agreed for us to take in the pups. We are still in the process of negotiating with the owners to allow us to help the mama dog get spayed so that there won’t be more unwanted puppies.

Lakota and her siblings were rushed to the vet for a complete health checkup. Luckily, they are all healthy and had passed negative on their blood tests. The kind volunteer posted their story on Facebook and Lakota’s foster mom knew it was urgent to save them and give them a good life. Their foster mom is an experienced dog rescuer and has found over a thousand dogs loving homes around the world. She went to the vet and brought them back to her home filled with love and care. They adjusted the moment they arrived and loves the company of all her rescued dogs.

Lakota is ready to begin her new life with any loving family that will promise to give her the love and care she deserves. Please give Lakota a chance to show you how wonderful she is.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lakota, a Castro Valley Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Castro Valley, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Castro Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Castro Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Castro Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Castro Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
