Twinkie's Story...
This adorable little girl is a Chihuahua mix, about 2.5 years old and a bit over 10 pounds. She’s named Twinkie as she has a permanent wink having only one eye. She doesn’t seem to be bothered and we happen to think it adds to her charm! She has the best personality for a companion animal. Everyone falls in love with her upon meeting. She definitely enjoys snuggling in her human’s lap but also appreciates her independence. Twinkie’s disposition is inviting and she enjoys playtime with all other dogs she meets and she is even okay with cats. Twinkie was rescued by our sister organization in Mexico, where she was spayed, dewormed and vaccinated. This sweetheart has now made her way into foster care in Surrey, BC. If you think this little love bug is exactly what you are looking for, contact us at info.pvca@gmail.com for an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Twinkie, a Nanaimo Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Nanaimo, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Nanaimo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Nanaimo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Nanaimo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Nanaimo paves the way for another one to be saved.
