Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Dutchess (d.o.b. 3/1/2002). This adorable little angel is always smiling, and will instantly melt your heart with her wiggly cuddles and kisses. Dutchess is so grateful to have finally found some stability and loving care here at the Sanctuary. Her prior owners were unable to care for their pets, so Dutchess lost the only home she had ever known. On top of that, she had developed pneumonia and needed medical care. Luckily she received the care she needed, and now she is back to her healthy happy self, ready to find a ‘forever family’ to love and care for her always. This super-friendly sweetheart LOVES people more than anything in the world, she just wants to be near you and truly lives to please you. When she sees people coming over to greet her, she starts wiggling with excitement; she can hardly contain her happiness. And once you get close, she starts rubbing into you, trying to soak in all the petting and affection she can get. So if you’re searching for a friendly affectionate Lap Dog, she might be the girl for you! Dutchess has playful spurts of energy where she enjoys running around and chasing toys too, yet she also enjoys curling up in your lap or at your side, just relaxing and enjoying each others’ company. What a perfect balance! She enjoys going for walks, exploring outdoors, and tossing her toys for a few minutes each day, yet she believes quality time with people is more fun than toys – so most of the time she’ll just try to engage in nice play interactions with her people instead. Being a small and fragile girl, Dutchess might prefer a home with older children that can be calm and gentle with a sensitive soul like herself. When it comes to other dogs, she can be choosy about her dog friends, so she needs to meet them first to see if she approves. She might do well with certain calm smaller-sized dogs like herself (the bigger dogs make her too nervous); otherwise she would be very happy as the only canine companion in your life! Dutchess is a very well-mannered, gentle, loving girl with an excellent temperament. Won’t you show her how amazing a true ‘forever family’ can be? If you’re ready to give Dutchess a chance, she promises to be a loyally devoted companion for life. Start the adoption process today at www.mackenzies.info!
