My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jerry weighs 8 pounds and is 5 months old. He is still very much a puppy; he is super active and playful - he loves playing with other dogs. While he is generally a quiet guy he does like to bark when he is playing with other dogs. Jerry is crate-trained and walks well on a leash. As such a young puppy, he is not house-trained, that is a process that will need to be finished by his adopter(s). Also as a young puppy, he would not do well in a home where he is left alone for long periods of time - puppies in that situation will find new and often destructive ways to entertain themselves such as chewing on furniture or barking and if/when such solitude continues they often develop behavior issues. Jerry is also a total lovebug - when you pick him up he melts in your arms and he likes giving kisses too. He enjoys cuddling with humans and his furry buddies. He has not been cat-tested.

We do not do out-of-state adoptions for puppies and we cannot hold puppies; please submit your application when you are ready to adopt.

If you are interested in meeting this dog at our weekly adoption event on Saturdays at the Petsmart in Yorba Linda, CA (5521 Mirage St.) between 1-5 PM, please fill out an application from our website, poochmatch.com, and return it via email to poochmatch@hotmail.com no later than 11 AM on Fridays. Due to the high volume of dogs and puppies in our foster homes, it is impossible to bring them all every Saturday. The only way to ensure that the dog that you are interested in will be at the adoption event is to FILL OUT AN APPLICATION AND BE APPROVED FOR ADOPTION. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that the dog you are interested in will be at our adoption event. If you cannot make the time frame of our events, appointments can be made at another time and location solely at the discretion of the foster parent.

Puppies adoption fees range from $325 to $475 and always include the mandatory and non-negotiable Spay/Neuter, 4 sets of distemper/parvo vaccinations, Rabies and microchip at 4 months when altered, 2 de wormings, fecal testing and medication related to worms, or parasites (coccida/giardia).

Puppies are not house-trained although they may have begun crate-training and/or potty pad training in their foster home, depending on their age. House-training is a process that will need to be completed by their adopter. Puppies, if left unsupervised and not redirected will develop negative behaviors such as using the restroom in the wrong place, chewing, barking, whining, etc. Please be sure to do research on raising a puppy and be sure that you are prepared to do so. This is a great article from 3LostDogs that explains the trials and tribulations of puppyhood: http://3lostdogs.com/things-wish-everyone-knew-before-they-get-dog-2/
