I am Henry Higgins. I'm a super sweet, older gentleman, approximately 8 years old. I am a husky hound beagle mix, weighing in at about 65 lbs. My optimal weight is 75-80 pounds and with my foster parents making sure my belly is full on a regular basis I will be there soon! I am good with other laid back dogs and also with kids. I do ok with cats, though it may be best if my forever home is cat free. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? I am crate trained but if someone could tell me what is so great about them, I’d appreciate it. I would love to just lie back on the couch with you while you rub my belly. House training is going good for the most part but I am still learning and will have it down in no time. I also know basic commands and can’t wait to see what other tricks my forever home will teach me.

My adoption fee is SPONSORED (meaning I am available fee-waived to an approved home) and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip with free lifetime registration! If you're interested in meeting/adopting me, please visit rescueonespringfield.com/adoption-application/ and fill out the form! We do adopt about of state with vet references and video home check. *Adopter is responsible for coming to get the dog and returning the dog if they adoption does not work out*

About Rescue One

About Our Rescue Group...

Rescue One is a group of volunteers dedicated to the rescue and betterment of animals lives in our community. We are a foster based rescue located in Springfield, MO. All of the animals in our care live in foster homes until a forever home can be found. Our goal is to not only rescue animals in need but to also educate the public on responsible pet ownership.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We host adoption events at Petsway in Springfield on Glenstone the 1st Saturday of the month and Petsway in Springfield on Battlefield the 3rd Saturday of the month. We are available other times as well if you see an animal you are interested in adopting. Please fill out an application at rescueonespringfield.com/adoption-application/ if there is a dog you are interested in adopting.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fees are as follows: $150 for dogs/puppies and $75 for senior/special needs dogs.

Rescue One will have potential adopters fill out an adoption application, and if the application is approved, set up a time to meet the pet and for the foster home to do a home check. The dog can then be taken on a week long adoption trial. At the end of the trial, the adoption can be finalized by notifying the dog's foster, and your adoption fee will be deposited and the dog's vet records released to you.

The only 'blanket' requirement Rescue One has in place is that no animal is to be an outdoor-only pet. No exceptions.
