ZOEY's Story...

Precious ZOEY is the kindest and most submissive girl on the planet! She is quiet, gentle, and a professional snuggler. However, she thinks playtime is awesome as well. To say ZOEY is tolerant is an understatement (watch her video to see her endless patience firsthand). All it takes is one look from her soulful eyes, and this girl steals the heart of everyone she meets!
ZOEY’s dog skills are second to none. She gets along with dogs of every age, size, and personality! She currently lives with a grumpy senior shih tzu and somewhat dominant big pittie/lab mix. She is very aware of the tiny old dog in her foster home. ZOEY is actually the very 1st foster dog the shih tzu has ever liked.
If there was ever a dog that we can confidently say is bombproof with other dogs, its ZOEY. She is just happy to be loved and feels no need to be the boss in any situation. She is a little timid for a few moments at first but always sweet. Once she knows you for a day she is a total velcro dog who can always be found at your side gazing up at you adoringly. She rides well in the car and doesn't pull on the leash. She is 18 months old and the perfect size of about 40 lbs. Whoever is lucky enough to be ZOEY’s forever family will be truly be blessed beyond belief. She is a once in a lifetime sweetheart.

ZOEY is microchipped, spayed, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Her $450 adoption fee includes her interstate health certificate and the cost of her transport after she is adopted.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions ( and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

ZOEY, a Milwaukee Boston Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boston Terrier for sale in Milwaukee, or seeking a Boston Terrier dog from a breeder in Milwaukee.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Milwaukee already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Milwaukee breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boston Terrier breeders who help with Boston Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Milwaukee paves the way for another one to be saved.
