My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Mitzi, an awesome little chihuahua/terrier type, a tiny 10 pounds, and estimated to be about 6 yrs. old. Found as a stray, she was brought to the local pound and never reclaimed, so we don't know her history. She quickly acclimated to her foster home and seems to get attached to her person quickly. Her foster mom describes her as "lovely and adorable". She needs love and attention. If she thinks she didn't get enough, she'll whine and look at you like "you're not really done loving on me yet, are you?" (She loves belly rubs and ear rubs.) She likes to be with her person, so would not do well in a home where her humans are gone long hours. Wherever you are, she will be right there with you. Getting into bed? She'll jump in with you too. Watching TV on the couch? She'll be right beside you. Outside in your lawn chair? She's right there beside you. (She loves being outside and sitting in the sun.) She is housebroken and knows commands such as 'sit', 'stay' and 'shake hands'. She's very alert and, like a mini watchdog, will
bark at people coming into the house (well, and sometimes the neighbors too!) She gets along with other little dogs.

Mitzi's foster mom says: "Mitzi needs a home that will love her to pieces. I have a feeling that she had a good home once but then something happened and she ended up here. She seems to remember how it was because she shows me how she was treated and what she likes. She is a great companion." So, if you're the person that is ready to LOVE MITZI TO PIECES, come meet this adorable little girl and fall in love.

You can meet Mitzi at her new foster home, Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Rd., 7 days a week during normal store hours. (www.wilmettepetcenter.com, 847-251-6750).

Mitzi's adoption fee of $300 includes comprehensive vet exam, heartworm test, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, Bordetella vaccination, Rabies vaccination, heartworm preventative, routine deworming, flea/tick preventative, microchip and spay.
