Izzy's Story...
Born 3/11/2013, female, Ebony-Calico, Oriental Shorthair Siamese

What a remarkable face this kitty has! She is a photographer’s dream. She just looks right at you and holds still. She is another kitty surrendered to us from an Oriental Shorthair breeder who could no longer take care of her cats. She is CFA registered.

Izzy arrived very cranky and full of opinions and hisses. That didn’t last long, and she settled in soon to show us what a loving girl she is. She has, of course, lived around other kitties and needs a home with a kitty companion. Shorthairs tend to do best in pairs. As a vivid calico, she will probably be the alpha cat in most pairs.

Oriental Shorthairs are long-bodied, slender, athletic, and very playful kitties. They are social kitties and make loyal family members. Izzy is a darling girl and will make some lucky family a wonderful, entertaining, and certainly colorful companion.

Izzy eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Contact Harriet at (831) 336-2983 or if you have questions, or send an Adoption Application. If you are unable to reach Harriet by phone or email, email us at
NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interest!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Izzy, a Davis Oriental cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Oriental for sale in Davis, or seeking a Oriental cat from a breeder in Davis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Davis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Davis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Oriental breeders who help with Oriental rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Davis paves the way for another one to be saved.
