Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dusty’s adoption fee is $350.
Dusty tells his story:
I’m Dusty. I’m 7 years old and I am in the midst of an amazing transformation! My life before Tiny Paws was not great. I had very bad breath (a dental fixed that). I had struvite bladder stones (proper food and getting out to pee more often fixed that). I also had a very bad limp (a cruciate knee operation fixed that). I’m also neutered, up to date on vaccines and am micro chipped. I weigh about 15 pounds.
I just had an excellent report from the knee surgeon. I’m still in rehab for a few more weeks, needing lots of walking, no big stair climbs and I’m not to run around off leash like a crazy boy.
I did not get out much before and I’m getting used to meeting lots of people and other dogs. I have been to the dog park, have been on holiday at a resort, and to family get togethers. I’m having lots of new experiences!
I like to play with my toys, especially a ball. I don’t play fetch because I’m not giving my toy up to anyone! I like to push them under the sofa and then make my foster mom get them. I especially like when she has to get the broom handle to fish them out. Ha ha! That is really exciting and my tail goes a mile a minute!
I love my walks and keep up a good pace, but I do pull on leash - oh oh! My excuse is that the other dog I walk with is a slow poke and stops to sniff too often and for too long. I’m still getting used to riding in the car; I wanted to drive (sit in the drivers lap), but I’m not allowed. I used to shake and be nervous, but now I sit quietly though I don’t settle down quickly to nap.
So that’s my story so far, and I’m looking for a new home to complete my transformation. My new family will need to continue to work with me on my socialization with people and other dogs – I need to get out and meet more people and experience more new situations with a calm, gentle person to support and guide me. I would be best suited to a home without younger children. I’d be fine with a gentle, calm dog but my foster mom thinks I’d probably chase a cat. I’m affectionate, loving, perky and fun. I would add a lot of love and humour to your life. Thanks for reading my story!
