Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Mila's Info...

I am already spayed, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Mila's Story...
Mila is about 2 years old and a great gal.  She has been in a foster home with 3 other dogs and 2 cats, older children and has done great.  She loves to walk and play.  She is 99% house-trained as well.  She LOVES her cookies and food, so she needs to be watched so she does not become over weight.  Mila will cuddle is your lap, sleep under your blankets and let you know whenever she thinks there are intruders (IE: people walking bye, UPS, FEDEX and those darn squirrels).  She really is an awesome gals and deserves her fur-ever home.

An approved adoption application is required. The $225 adoption fee (payable by cash only) includes spay/neuter; microchip; dental teeth cleaning (if needed prior to adoption); vaccinations; and heartworm testing. Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Dogs for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application. Proof of completion of an obedience class is required for all dogs following adoption. Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mila, a Holland Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Holland, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Holland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Holland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Holland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Holland paves the way for another one to be saved.
