My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I'm Ginger and I'm a unique English Coonhound. What makes me unique you might ask? Well, Coonhounds are famous for their beautiful, long ears but I really only have one (and a stub). I'd rather not talk about it, but something happened that resulted in most of my right ear being torn off. I'm ok now, though, aside from looking a little lop-sided. lol! I love people; especially those who give me lots of attention and caress my remaining ear! I really love food, too, and can't seem to get enough of it. I went hungry in the past so I feel like I have to guard my food from other dogs to make sure they don't take it from me. I've never had a secure, loving home before and once I find one I'm sure I could learn that I don't have to worry about going hungry ever again. I get along with the dogs my size that I have met here. I have visited the cat room and wasn't sure what to make of the kitties...they kind of look like bunny rabbits to me so I think I best keep my distance lest temptation overcome me! I would appreciate a moderately active family. Going on walks and hikes together would be so enjoyable but you have to promise we can be couch potatoes and snuggle together when the day's fun is done! I am 2-4 yrs old, spayed, 4DX neg. and weigh 40-50 lbs. I am currently impounded at the Pocahontas County Animal Shelter in Marlinton, WV and in need of rescue or adoption.
