This is Aubrey, a shy girl who is now learning her role in the world. She's about 40 pounds and approximately 3 years old and came to us after being left behind when her first family moved.

Aubrey was understandably anxious when she arrived but she is quickly adapting and learning. She is very eager to please and is super smart. She loves treats which been helpful with her training. She walks great on a leash and responds well to verbal commands and love to give quick kisses to let you know how grateful she is for her second chance at a loving home. She is still getting used to everyday things like going up stairs and through doors, but she does great with some encouragement.

Aubrey has done great in her foster home with the mellow cats. She has done well with most dogs, but she is still learning that most dogs want to be friends. She will benefit from a loving home that will continue to help her blossom. She would be a great hiking buddy or a wonderful companion for adventures. The ideal home for her would be on the quiet side with someone who will continue to work with her to build her confidence.

I am up to date on all of my vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $250. If you would like to meet me, please email for an application or visit our website mywayhomedogrescue.org to download one!

About My Way Home Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small group of volunteer foster families located in and around Portland, OR helping one dog at a time. Dogs are housed in homes to assess their behavior and level of training, and to develop their basic social skills. They often have exposure to other pets and people that they would not get in a shelter setting. The stresses of group living in shelters sometimes masks a dog's true personality. We want our dogs to shine and strive to make the best match possible so that the dog you take home is with you forever.

Please note, because we are volunteers housing dogs in our own homes, we are unable to assist with owner surrender situations. We suggest placing flyers at your veterinarian, local pet food stores, working with your local shelters and rescues that are able to assist with owner surrenders.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We work individually with families and dogs, setting up meet and greets by appointment after a phone interview and application review. We are a group of volunteer foster families and do not operate a facility. Our dogs are a part of a family before finding a forever home.

Our Adoption Process...

Once you have found the pet that you are interested in, please email us and we'll be back in touch with you with an application that you may fill out for the dog you are considering. If it seems like a good match, we will do a phone screening to answer any further questions you may have and look at scheduling a meet and greet.

Fees do vary and all adoption fees go directly towards the costs for medical care and general needs of our dogs. We do our best to ensure each dog is appropriately matched with each home, as such, we are not a first come first serve rescue. We strive to answer inquiries within 24 hours, but we are run entirely by volunteers. Please be patient as we work to respond to you quickly.
