Piper's Story...
Piper is an adorable, 9-10 week old puppy, who doesn't know the concept of being "tiny". She is quite certain that she is a much larger dog, since her best friend is an 80 lb Staffie/Lab mix. She is very quickly learning her house-manners, including potty training, crate-training, and how to sit to say please. She's doing well on her recall. Piper loves cuddle time. Shy? She doesn't know the meaning of the word. Gregarious, friendly, life-of-the-party could all be used to describe this friendly, social pup.

Piper will be ready for adoption in about 2.5 weeks. We are accepting applications for her now. If you'd like to meet her, please contact info@wagsfundrescue.com for an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Piper, a Houston Chihuahua/Mixed Breed (Small) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Mixed Breed (Small) for sale in Houston, or seeking a Chihuahua/Mixed Breed (Small) puppy from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Mixed Breed (Small) breeders who help with Chihuahua/Mixed Breed (Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
