Facts about MAX

  • Breed: Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Collie Mix
  • Color: Black - With Tan, Yellow Or Fawn
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Max is a neutered male Shepherd/Collie mix born in November 2013.

Max is a really sweet dog, without a mean bone in his body. He is extremely shy and takes his time to interact with humans. The best way to make him your friend is by sharing your human delicious snacks with him. Bread and cheese are his favourite.

Max is looking for a calm assertive energy around him; a true pack leader to build his confidence. An adults-only home is preferred; only because young, active children are a stressor for him at this time in his life. Max isn't enjoying long walks because of the busy neighbourhood so a quiet neighbourhood or a home in the country would suit him best. A large fenced backyard where he can laze around in would make his day enjoyable!

It would also be best for Max to be the only dog in the home, only because we want to avoid any unnecessary stressors for him.

Once Max opens up he enjoys being around his humans. He loves his crate and loves to have towels and blankets in the crate with him. He's completely house broken and can be left alone without supervision for 4-6 hours at a time. Max doesn't bark much, bite or chew and he loves a raw hide bone every once in a while. In keeping with his current diet, a raw food, well balanced diet is recommended although given some transition time, he could probably revert to s high quality kibble diet (one with no additives or preservatives; a protein (lamb, venison etc) and includes fruits and vegetables) diet).

Max came from Greece in April 2017 and the family is very sad that their home isn't the right fit for him. So, if you can offer Max an adults-only home in a quiet neighbourhood, with a secure fenced yard and have lots of love and patience to allow Max to settle in without too many demands on him, we'd love to hear from you as he's a very sweet fellow.

Max is neutered, vaccine up to date, microchipped and his recent check up shows he's in excellent health on his recent check up. His monthly flea/tick prevention will travel with him to his new home.

Please email diannealdan@sympatico.ca for an adoption application and if all looks good, we can arrange for you to visit with Max.

About Tails from Greece Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small Canadian-registered charity who homes dogs who've come from Greece, providing them with vet care and other needs on arrival; for example, wheelchair cart, full blood work, hip replacement surgery, spay/neuter surgery etc. We are always in need of donations (which are tax receiptable if from within Canada) as we spend anywhere between $25,--- - $35,000 on vet care annually. It's a very rewarding effort, so far having rehomed 452 dogs and 7 cats.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are always in need of donations. If you'd like to make a donation one can be made by e-transfer to email diannealdan@sympatico.ca or at www.canadahelps.org and a donation receipt will be issued for donations of $10 or more. Thanks so much!

Our Adoption Process...

Detailed adoption approval process including application, home visit and personal & vet reference checks. Terms of Adoption include not surrendering the dog to a municipal pound and to contact the charity if rehoming is needed.
