Unfortunately his love for them manifested in his showing aggression towards anyone who approached them. He never had this problem in foster care, because he wasn't closely bonded with his foster parents. Once he got his own kids, he became very protective. His new owner consulted a trainer, but living in an apartment, there's no way to give him downtime away from passersby to learn better behavior. The drawings you see here were done by the three little girls he left behind when he came back into foster care.
The family that adopted him completed the slow kill antibiotics that we provide for heartworm positive dogs, and have offered to pay for his fast kill heartworm treatment. They want the best for him and are devastated that he can't stay with them.
Diesel needs a home with a decent yard and a family willing to work through his issues. Please let us know if you'd be interested in adopting him, donating towards continuing training, or fostering him through heartworm treatment.
We love our buddy, and we will find him the perfect spot. Could you be his person? Do you know anyone who might be?
All dogs adopted from our RRRRescue have been spayed/neutered, kept current on flea and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and updated on age appropriate vaccinations. The adoption fee is $100. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please fill out an application at www.tinyurl.com/rrrrdogapp
