McKinley's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

McKinley's Story...
We are looking for a new home for McKinley, a 30 lb Shiba Inu/Cattle Dog/Eskimo Mix. We adopted McKinley 3 years ago from Copper’s Dream Rescue when he was 2 (5 years old now). McKinley is an extremely affectionate and lovable guy, and is ideally looking for someone who has a yard and is home much of the time (WFH or other reasons).

McKinley is housebroken, walks well on a leash (although is leash aggressive), has great recall off leash, and knows all basic commands (sit, stay, down, no). McKinley is a very polite member of the family who always wants to be around you. He will wait with food in his dish to be told it’s ok to eat, and will let you in the house first, and wait to be called in. McKinley has had no health problems and is completely up to date on all his shots (medical records available). He is comfortable being groomed (bath, nails, etc.) and loves to be brushed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

McKinley, a Palo Alto Shiba Inu/American Eskimo Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shiba Inu/American Eskimo Dog for sale in Palo Alto, or seeking a Shiba Inu/American Eskimo Dog dog from a breeder in Palo Alto.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Palo Alto already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Palo Alto breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shiba Inu/American Eskimo Dog breeders who help with Shiba Inu/American Eskimo Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Palo Alto paves the way for another one to be saved.
