Tao's Story...
Tao A35476688

Tao is currently in a foster home, but is still available for adoption.

Meet Tao (we have called him Tay-o)

Tao is very shy. We took him into our foster home to socialize him and teach him to trust people. He has come a long way in two weeks. At first he would not take food from our hand, eat in front of us, or go to the bathroom outdoors. We have worked with him and he is now doing great with all of this.

He has gotten along with our cat and the dogs that he has come across. He is very friendly and loves teenagers.

He has been kenneled at night and when we cannot watch him. When he is supervised he does well in the house and is a very quiet, gentle, and calm dog. He just likes to be around people. He is still in the learning phase of potty training so his new owner will need to be patient. They will be rewarded with lots of kisses, as he is very loving and enjoys belly rubs and snuggling.

Leash training has been more challenging. He has done well on some occasions in public, but not always. He is still hesitant. Off leash, he is great. He stays close and responds well to returning on call. A fenced yard would be ideal.

He will make a great companion or family pet. Give him a chance and be patient with him. The reward will be worth it.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tao, a Greensboro Shiba Inu/Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shiba Inu/Pug for sale in Greensboro, or seeking a Shiba Inu/Pug dog from a breeder in Greensboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Greensboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Greensboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shiba Inu/Pug breeders who help with Shiba Inu/Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Greensboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
