Lars is about 2 years old and has a sable color coat. He ended up in a rural kill shelter where he was scheduled to be euthanized for space, so he was transferred from there to ARNI Foundation in Daytona Beach in hopes of finding him a forever home. He has been there since June 2017.
Lars arrived heartworm positive and has recently completed treatment. He is already neutered and microchipped.
He is a big boy, over 80 lbs and lacks basic obedience, he gets super excited when people come visit him so he jumps, therefore a home without small children is recommended. He has a very goofy and friendly personality but needs a person who will have the strength, time and knowledge to spend some time on training him and providing structure in his life. Although he is safe and very well taken care of at ARNI, he would so much better in a home environment.
Lars has been around multiple dogs, he did not like one specific female dog that he has met but was good with all others, males and females.
He currently spends most of his day in a large room at ARNI and gets daily outdoor play time in a large fenced in area. He enjoys climbing on people's laps and being petted. He loves his ears rubbed and he is starting to learn how to sit and shake. He also has his own Facebook page where you can see his videos:
Please help us find him a forever home.
