Tebow's Story...
Tebow and his father, Hemi, came to BARC after being abandoned and left without food for three weeks. Needless to say, their former owner is being charged with animal cruelty. Click Here to see a news story about what investigators said was one of the worse cases of animal cruelty they had ever seen. Be warned, the video is not for the faint of heart.

These dogs came from Alabama, a state in which BARC usually doesn't operate, but animal control and law enforcement were determined to get them into a rescue program and we responded due to the urgency of the situation and the desire to work together with law enforcement to see a maximum sentence enforced.

Tebow is a beautiful, three year old flashy fawn Boxer who has an excellent temperament despite the extreme neglect he has suffered.Tebow has a fairly lengthy medical rehabilitation before he will be available for adoption. In addition to being still being underweight (Tebow is pictured here after four weeks of good nutrition), he is currently being treated for hookworms and will also have to go through heartworm treatment and be neutered before he is ready for adoption. Tebow loves attention and he gets along with the male and female Boxers in his foster home. He is being fostered by Pat, John, Sassy & Mick in Lake City.

The medical rehabilitation of Tebow and his father, Hemi, will be very expensive. We appreciate any and all donations for their care.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tebow, a Thomasville Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Thomasville, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Thomasville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Thomasville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Thomasville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Thomasville paves the way for another one to be saved.
