Henry is a gorgeous 2 year old Shepherd/Heeler Mix in need of a rescue or new home ASAP! Lots of details in bio below! And his own facebook page. https://m.facebook.com/Home-for-Henry-1370657139707977/

Meet Henry. He is a 65 pound, two-and-a-half-year-old, male, Heeler Shepherd mix who we found as a stray in Oklahoma. He has been with us since August 2016. When we found him, he had no collar or chip. He is currently chipped. He tested positive for heart worm. He has been through all the treatments and is now heart worm free. Henry is neutered as of April. Henry is a high energy dog with some possible anxiety and is currently taking medication to help calm him. He does not kennel at home, but does fine at the vet, boarding facility, and groomer when kenneled. He is house broken and will bark when he needs to go outside.

Henry is a friendly dog with people. Henry is extremely loving, attentive and loyal. He needs an experienced and confident owner as he can be distrustful of other dogs. But with right introduction does well. While at a boarding facility (when we have gone on vacation), the Kennel staff reports they put him with older calmer dogs and he did well. We do not know how Henry would respond to cats since we have not had any experience with that. Henry has been around a 5 and 7-year-old child for short visits. He did well with supervision of both the children and Henry.
Having worked with a dog trainer in home, Henry knows his basic cues (sit, stay, down, touch and we are currently working on leave it). The dog trainer would happily work with his new owner to support the transition and help with additional training. He is very treat motivated while doing the training.
Henry is good on walks, bike rides and plays fetch in the backyard. Being a smart active guy, he’ll need someone who will work his mind as well as his body. He loves car rides. Vet and groomer trips have been fine.

He will be an incredible dog for the right person, all he wants is an active, loyal companion to take care of him, give him lots of attention, and provide him with a loving home.

If you're interested please contact Wendy Hustad (480-272-4150) or Anita Holm (480-688-6037) and we can arrange for you to meet him. Please only contact us if you're sure that you're ready for the responsibility of owning a dog for the next 10+ years, have looked through the cattle dog Wikipedia page to ensure that they're the right sort of dog for you and are confident that you can provide this guy with a good, active life he deserves.
