Additional info: Chewy is a 3 yr. 1 month old Terrier Mix/(red/white) who weight 11 lbs. He was taken into the shelter as a stray and stayed there much too long. The shelter volunteers all love him and when taken out of the cage, he becomes a sweet and loving guy. Although he is initially shy when new people approach, he is a love bug, and is good with other dogs. We suggest a home with no kids, as he can nip when fearful. Chewy will do best with an experienced owner who has the time and patience to let Chewy find his way and become the sweet boy we know he is. Chewy is very fearful when meeting new people and requires some time and space to warm up. He jumps when he is touched and doesn't see it coming, so for this reason no kids for Chewy please. Once he warms up he is a very sweet and gentle, he is afraid of dogs that are too high energy and will run away. Chewy needs someone that will be patient and help him to feel safe. Chewy seems to be housebroken and will settle into a crate after some initial crying. With some love and TLC, Chewy will be a great companion.
