My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Aimee(f) 13lb, 7 years old Poodle Adoption fee $350.
My name is Aimee and I am a 13 lbs. almost 7 year old svelte Poodle girl looking for my furever loving home. As you can see from my pictures, I am a tall slender girl with all the attributes of a fashion model. My previous owner could not keep me because she moved  into an assisted care facility and it took about 5 months until I finally came to the NorCal Poodle Rescue.

I must confess that I am really shy, but it only took me a day to get comfortable in my foster home. I still have to learn to be comfortable with strangers and it would probably be best if you have a fairly quiet home without little children or lots of commotion.  Sudden motions scare me. An experienced dog owner will be best.

I don’t mind little dogs but I tend to growl and bark at the big ones because they scare me. In fact, a home with a brother or sister dog would be nice. A cat might be Ok around me although I think it’s fun to bark at them and watch them run!

Hopefully, you can take me on a couple of walks a day because I am perfectly house trained. I am very light footed and graceful and sometimes my family checks to see if I am still there because they can’t feel me on the leash because I follow my walker so well! You should also know that I do not shed or cause allergies because I really have hair not fur. At some time in my younger years, someone thought it might be a good idea to “debark” me so I sound quieter than most. You should also know that I had to have a few of my middle teeth pulled in March 2017, but you would never know looking at me. When we get a chance to meet, you will see that I am a very special girl that will happily be your loving companion for life.

Dogs are vaccinated, microchipped  and spayed/neutered before adoption.
The necessary first step to inquire about any dog, is to complete the NCPR Adoption Interest Form. Once we receive the NCPR Adoption Interest Form, a volunteer will contact you promptly. We need your information to match you with the perfect companion. NorCal Poodle Rescue places dogs within northern California only.
