This adorable boy has been in foster care since he was 5 weeks old.
He's now 5 MONTHS old and hasn't had a single adoption application put in for him!

What is your name?
Hi! I'm Smith! My foster mom sometimes calls me Smitty too.
How old are you?
I'm 5 months old!
How much do you weigh?
26 pounds right now!
What do you look like?
I have a tall, lean body type and I'm a chocolaty/red brindle with some white markings as well. My foster mom says I'm a handsome boy!
What do you like to eat?
I loveeee food!! I have been eating Merricks "chicken and sweet potato" puppy food for my meals. Foster momma sometimes gives us dog cookies too from the dog bakery and those are really yummy too! I also like carrots!
What kind of personality do you have?
My foster mom describes me as an easy going guy. I like to play and wrestle with my brother and foster siblings and I enjoy playing fetch with the tennis ball. After I get my wiggles out I'm ready to relax and sunbathe or cuddle on the couch with my foster mom. I really enjoy cuddling!!
Describe your perfect day:
Hmmm, I'd say- doing something fun with my people, playing with some doggies, and ending the day with cuddles.
What is your favorite toy?
I think a tennis ball would be my favorite right now. I also really like my chew bones!!
Do you know any tricks?
I'm pretty good at "come" and sitting on command. My foster mom worked with me on a leash and she said I did very well! I'm learning "heal". She said I'm a fast learner.
What scares you?
I'm a little nervous in new surroundings, but after a minute I'm okay. I'm a puppy, I'm still learning about the world. So many new sights and smells to learn about.
Have you been around children? Do you like them?
I have only met children a few times but I love children!! The ones I've met have been so nice to me and let me give them kisses.
Do you like cats?
What's a cat?? I haven't met a cat! I'm open to making new friends though!
How do you feel about other dogs?
I love doggies! I live with my brother and my foster mom has two dogs too.
If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be?
As long as I'm with my people I'm happy!
How is your health?
I'm a healthy boy. I'm neutered and vaccinated too!
Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion?
My foster parents, my brother Wesson, a 4year old male pitbull and a 2 year old female boxer/bulldog mix. My closest companion is my brother.
Where do you hang out when you are home alone?
In our XL crate! I'm crate trained!!
Where do you sleep?
I sleep in my crate too. Foster mom puts a blanket over it at night so it's a cozy little place.
Do you like walking on a leash?
Yea, it's still fairly new to me because it hasn't been too long since I've finished my vaccines and been allowed to go out in public. But it's fun!
Do you have any "not-so-great" habits that we should know about? For instance, do you bark or dig in the yard?
I like to take my foster moms slippers and run off with them. She tells me that I can't have her slippers but I think it's fun. I've never messed up any shoes though.
Are you house trained? (Meaning do you go potty outside)
I do when I can! When foster mom is home she takes us outside every few hours to potty and play and I'm a good boy and go potty while outside! Otherwise like at night, I have potty pads in my crate and go on those.
Do you like playing in water?
Umm, well, foster mom and dad took us swimming at foster grandmas house and that was pretty fun as long as they were holding me. Baby pools are fun too, I mostly just use it as a giant water bowl but sometimes I cool off in it.
Are you being fostered privately or through another rescue?
I'm being fostered through Fred's Friends Rescue.
What do you love about your foster family?
They really love me and have taken great care of me. The other dogs are fun to play with too!
How do people get in touch with your foster family?
Foster mom says it's okay to call her! 530-913-3112. Her name is Stephanie.
