Hi! My name is Buttercup. I am a 9 year old female Yellow Naped Amazon parrot.
Guess what?? I can talk! I like to say things like “Hello”, “Hi Butters”, “How are you”, “Good Morning”, “Good Girl” and whistle for the dog. Guess what else? I also like to sing Opera!!!
I love to play with my toys, especially paper towel rolls! You can also find me watching cartoons and listening to music.
I am shy and if I feel threatened I may bite. If you are patient with me and can gain my trust, I might let you scritch me on the head. I do know how to step up but most of the time I don't really want to. Please respect my space!
I am told I am very beautiful. I know that I can learn to love someone who will love me, sing to me and feed me! (Amazons are known for their healthy appetite!) Speaking of feeding me, I do eat pellets and I just love grapes. Veggies need to be in my diet too so please offer me a variety of fresh veggies and I will probably eat them.
I am looking for my forever home! Do you think you could open your house and heart to a beautiful Amazon like me? With love and the patience to let me go at my own pace, we could be BFFs for a lonnggggggggggggg time! Please, come on out and meet me and maybe I could sing for you? An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird's cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
