About T.A.R.A. | Adopt | Volunteer | Donate

Gio is an incredibly handsome and friendly cat in need of a great home! He's a chatty guy and so far he's been just fine with the people, cats and dogs that we've introduced him to. He loves to be petted and cuddled, and will make a great lap cat.

Gio has feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). FIV cannot be transmitted to people or dogs, and is rarely transmitted between housecats. FIV is most often transmitted through deep bite wounds and between unneutered males defending their territory. Cats with FIV can live long, healthy, happy lives. Health precautions for FIV+ cats includes ensuring that they receive annual vaccinations, keeping them indoors, providing a low-stress environment, and feeding high-quality food.

Adoption Fee: $65

TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, FIV/FeLV Combo test, and deworming. A two-week trial is included as part of the adoption.

Because we do not know the background of many of our cats, we cannot guarantee exact age or breed.

Adoption centers may not have a volunteer present to open the cat enclosures, and we have foster homes located throughout the KC metro area. Please fill out an application if you'd like to meet this cat.

Interested in this pet? Please fill out a non-binding application. Our goal is to find life-long matches between animals and families, and the application provides us with a lot of information to help us help you find that match!
