My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! Thank-you for clicking on my profile, I’d love to meet you. Let me tell you a little bit about adopting me.

My name is Sasha and I am a 2 year old spayed female Shih Tzu who came to the kind folks at NBS Animal Rescue when I was found as a stray and ended up in a local shelter. Unfortunately my family never came to look for me, but a very nice shelter manager reached out to my friends at NBS Animal Rescue to help me find my fur-ever home. It took me a few days to settle into my foster home but now that I'm comfortable I am LOVING life!!

My foster mom says that I am a snuggle bug of a little lady who enjoys going for walks, exploring my fenced back yard, and snuggling on the couch or in bed with my foster mom and dad. I am a quiet little lady who is pretty mellow most of the time. I do enjoy a good romp in the yard, will play with other mellow and friendly small dogs (big dogs tend to scare me), and I enjoy a good stuffed animal toy too!

I'm doing well with learning how to potty outside if my foster family keeps me on a regular schedule and tells me what a good girl I am when I do my business outside. I'm looking for a fur-ever home with kids 10+ as I get a little nervous around loud noises and fast movements. My ideal home would be one that is low energy without a lot of commotion, with a fenced yard for me to romp in and a family who was home often to spend lots of time with me.

My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too! For me?

These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
- Family who is gone no longer than 5 hour periods.
-Children must be 10yrs or older
- 100% fenced in yard preferred. Detailed description of multiple daily walks and potty breaks listed on application will be considered if family is home often. No electric fences please.

If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:

1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….

2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.

3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you’d like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and are ready to apply, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family just yet. However, would you please help by sharing my picture on Facebook, twitter or by email? I'm a great pup and need a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
