The Littlest Angels - Small, Bonded Seniors Need New Home

Dixie and Marlie have found themselves in need of a new home for their golden years. The little ones have lived their entire lives as the resident dogs in a local religious community of Sisters. Unfortunately, the Sisters have been relocated out-of-state, and were unable to keep their beloved pups. So until recently, Dixie and Marlie have lived a very charmed life with constant love, attention, and training from the resident Sisters.

Dixie, a spayed female Rat Terrier is 12 yrs. and her companion Marlie is a toy Australian Shepherd, neutered male, 11 yrs. old. Both are small dogs and weight about 13 lbs. They have wonderful house manners and they love to be together and with their people. They are well trained, beautifully behaved in the home, and are accustomed to having companionship all day since the Sisters were around the convent most of the time. Of course, they will need to warm up to new people.

Dixie is friendly and loving and loves everyone. Marlie is a very dedicated, affectionate, faithful and loving boy, and an industrious pup. He always finds "work" for himself to do and is very faithful in doing it. Marlie takes very seriously the herding characteristic of his breed. For that reason, a home without children will be best.

In fact, both Dixie and Marlie fit the characteristics of their breeds quite nicely. They are intelligent little dogs, and learn quickly. Both are UTD on vaccinations, recent dentals, and are in good health. Now they are ready for their new forever home. Their ideal home would have someone at home most of the time, and would enjoy teaching Marlie more tricks.
A home visit will be conducted.

About Pets Bring Joy

About Our Rescue Group...

We are passionate about the fact that pets bring joy to the people who love them, and vice versa! Our full mission statement is presented on our website,, but in a nutshell, we rescue adoptable animals (primarily cats) at risk from "kill shelters," emphasizing adult cats who often get passed over in favor of kittens. We support them through the kindness of volunteer foster homes, and work to find qualified, loving homes for them all.

We also encourage collaboration within the rescue community, working with smaller "grass roots" rescue organizations to help them with community outreach and fund-raising.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Most of our sponsored cats are cared for by foster volunteers in their homes throughout Northern Virginia. We arrange for approved adopters to meet our kitties in their foster homes, where the kitties are in their most relaxed and natural environment.

We are also delighted to have been chosen as the resident rescue organization for PetSmart's East Fairfax store, located at 9528 Main Street in Fairfax, Virginia 22031 (at the corner of Pickett Road and Main Street aka "Little River Turnpike"). You may *view* our kitties any time that the store is open (store phone: (571) 328-7770), but it's best if you contact us via email first so that we can arrange to have a PBJ volunteer meet you to open the cat room so that you can *interact* with them.

We regularly hold adoption events at the store on Saturdays ... please check our website,, for our latest adoption schedule.

We also have animals housed at the PetMAC in DC. Please visit their website:; visit Lori at the PetMAC DC store 7 days a week or email Lori at for more information.

Tango Pet Depot... is another place to see some of our kitties. Their store is located at 11213 Lee Hwy Suite N in Fairfax, VA 22030. Please visit their website at or check them out on Facebook.

Our Adoption Process...

We require completion of an initial on-line application; our evaluation process involves two phone interviews, a vet reference check, and a home visit.
