Facts about Sissy
Breed: Domestic Shorthair/Domestic Shorthair Mix
Color: Black (All)
already spayed and housetrained.
I am already spayed and housetrained.
I am Sissy the Sweet, a laid-back girl with a gentle meow and beautiful glossy fur. I love to be petted and have my head and whit chin scratched. My fur is velvety and I have the most striking coloring on my face. While I don't really like to be picked up, I do enjoy sitting next to you to keep you company. I am the most active in the morning and early evening and little stuffed mice are my absolute favorite toys to play with. I love to lounge upon my foster mom's piano while I listen to her play and accompany her with my purrs...What do you say? Shall we make beautiful music together?
The Humane Society of Alamance County (HSAC) is a non-profit organization funded solely by donations, fundraisers and membership fees. We are a small group of dedicated volunteers working toward alleviating animal suffering and ending pet overpopulation. We have 5 main programs, and receive approximately 900 phone calls per month from the public. Since restructuring in 1988, our main focus has been on spay/neuter. We believe the spay and neuter of all companion animals is the answer to ending the tragedy of pet overpopulation. We average spaying or neutering 1000 animals per year through our low cost program. We do not have a physical shelter location but have a small network of volunteers who provide foster care in their homes. Approximately 300 animals per year come through our foster program. Other services include an education program for children, emergency medical assistance, and food assistance for qualifying families.
Our greatest needs are for foster families, volunteers to supervise dogs and cats at adoption fairs and monetary donations to help with our vet bills, our primary expense.
Come Meet Our Pets...
HSAC holds an adoption fair the first Saturday of each month from 11am - 1pm at PetSmart, University Drive in Burlington, NC. We also hold a new volunteer orientation the first Saturday of every month at PetSmart, Burlington, NC from 10am - 11am.
Other fairs are held as locations and volunteers are available and announced on our website and our social media platforms.
Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption process includes an application and possible home visit. We strive to match humans and animals so that they can enjoy many happy years together. The adoption fee is $150 for dogs and $85 for cats which includes vaccines, deworming, microchip, and spay or neuter. Dogs 6 months and older are tested for heartworms and all cats are combo tested for FeLV and FIV.
Humane America Animal Foundation, dba Adopt-a-Pet.com, is a non-profit, tax-deductible 501(c)(3) adoption advertising charity. Our mission (and passion) is to help
