My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lester is just a sweet terrier /dachshund mix. He is approx 1 year old and 14 lbs. He is a happy little dog and just blends in with all of his rescue buddies. He loves to run and play. He would be best in an active family with children over 8-10 yrs old. He seems to be pretty well house trained and is learning very quickly by running out to the yard with his rescue buddies. He does ok on a leash but could do with some more training and would do better in a harness than on a leash. He has a really sweet disposition and would love buddy to keep him company.

The total adoption donation of $525 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. Just as a note, if you are in Massachusetts and are adopting directly from Texas rather than from a local foster, there are new quarantine laws in effect. All rescues must be quarantined 48 hours at a state run facility, and in addition, a second interstate health certificate is required to be issued by a Massachusetts vet. This new law may add an additional cost.
