My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Noori is 4 years old and weight 33 lbs.

Noori came into the shelter when he was just 4 months old, and has never left the place for over 4 years now. He grew up never knowing what it's like outside the shelter, and he never had anything of his own - a warm bed, a toy or a family.
Not surprisingly, Noori was fearful of people and barely knew how to play with other dogs due to minimal contact and socialization.
Ever since he came to our affilliated daycare 7 months ago, he began trusting people and now even takes treats and asks to be petted from the staffs. We are sure that with some TLC at a calm household, Noori will really come out of his shell and become a loving companion.
Noori does have a few behavioral quirks that require special attention, such as marking when nervous, tendency to bolt at loud noise or sudden movement, etc. Noori also is not a huge fan of other canine friends who do not respect his personal space - so we recommend that Noori be an only dog unless the other dog can be respectful and understanding of Noori's initial nervousness.
Noori is UTD on all his shots and is neutered. He limps a little due to previous pelvis issue that was not caught early enough for proper treatment, but the vet has told us that Noori should not have any issues and is healthy other than his limping. His #adoption fee is $350.

*Noori is currently at a foster in Korea. We transport our dogs after an adopter has been secured, so unfortunately, we do not provide meet and greets. Instead, we do our best to provide as much description, pictures and videos as possible.

If you would like to adopt him, please fill out our online application at https://sites.google.com/view/donghaepaws. An HDP volunteer will reach out for more information after a careful review of your application. Please understand this may take few days. Thank you!

*** We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 8 years old. A home check is mandatory before adoption. We adopt to residents of Northern VA and Washington DC suburbs only. Applicants must be at least 24 years old. ***

*** About us ***
Hope For Donghae Paws(HDP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to bringing rescue dogs from Korea to the US and finding permanent homes for them. It is true there are many animal lovers in Korea, but still many dogs suffer and are killed for food.
Our mission is to find US homes for mixed-breed dogs whose chances of being adopted in their native Korea are very low.
