Hennessy is just like a circus clown. At first glance his funny face and huge bat ears make everyone want to laugh out loud. But underneath that funny exterior is quite a sad, frightened dog who is struggling to come to terms with life in the shelter environment surrounded by strangers and other larger dogs. When he first comes out of his crate Hennessy is timid and even walks with his tail tucked. But each time he works with a handler he gains a little more confidence and he really responds well to petting and praise. Despite his shyness, Hennessy is good at following commands including sit, come and lets go. Once he really gets going Hennessy enjoys playing with toys and when he’s walking up on the trail his tail goes up and he becomes a much happier, more confident dog. Hennessy needs a home that can help him learn to embrace life and not be afraid of new people and situations. He will need a calm but upbeat environment to help him be confident whilst not overwhelming him. At about two years of age Hennessy is full grown, weighing only 41lbs, but still young and has a lot of love to give.
