Lucky's Story...
Up for adoption in Texas: Lucky.

Lucky is a sweet 1-2 year old lab mix who weighs about 50lbs.

This handsome boy bounced back after we pulled him from the shelter and he's full spirit, loves to eat, his coat is now gorgeous and he is ready for his forever home!

Lucky loves everyone he meets, except he hasn’t been cat-tested so we aren’t sure if he considers them friend or foe. For all that he had been through, he has been loving and trusting of his foster family from the start. He is currently in a home with two 6-year old children and they are his pals. He is a young, energetic pup who would do well with daily exercise to keep his body and mind in top shape.

Lucky has proven to be a fast learner and has already mastered “sit”, “down”, “treat/go in your crate”, and “walk”, and has the potential to learn other commands very quickly. He does well in his crate, sleeping there at night and when he is home alone. He lets his foster know when he wants to go outside and walks well on a leash. He loves a good belly rub and will lean in close to put his head on your shoulder for a hug.

Overall, this Lucky boy deserves the good life and will be an awesome pal for someone looking for a best friend.

Lucky is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, house trained and ready to go!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucky, a Austin Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Austin, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
