Facts about Teller

  • Species: Guinea Pig
  • Color: Black
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
Teller is a 6 month old male American short hair guinea pig. He was originally purchased from an ad on Craigslist. He was surrendered to us because he was housed inside a "ferret" cage with another male (Penn). Penn and Teller got into a major fight and a 5 yr old child tried to break up the fight and was bitten by Teller on the hand. The family thought it was best to surrender both guinea pigs.

We have been working with Teller everyday since he was surrendered. He has not shown any aggression at all. We cut his nails without any bit of trouble. He has been a "model" guinea pig since being here. His foster home has teenagers (14 and 16 yr old) and Teller has been the perfect gentleman to both of the children, he has not tried to bite at all. Teller does love to eat, he enjoys romaine, green leaf, green peppers, oranges, apples, Watermelon (his favorite). He is calm while outside of his cage. He does not mind being held. He does run around his cage while trying to pick him up however this is related to his age and will stop as his ages.

Due to his bite history, Teller will not be adopted to families with children under 16 yr old. and will need an experienced guinea pig owner. He has been wonderful while here at the rescue and we do believe this was an accident however the history will always remain with him. He will need to remain a single guinea pig. He does not get along with other male guinea pigs.

We will include a guinea pig that is 29"L x 17" W x 16" H , a water bottle, a piggie hut, and a food dish.

About Little Fur Ball Guinea Pig Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Little Fur Ball Guinea Pig is a small all volunteer rescue and sanctuary for aging and/or medically un-adoptable guinea pigs. We have a handful of fosters homes mostly located in Montgomery County, PA. We do our best to rescue as many guinea pigs from high-kill shelters as we can. We also take in unwanted guinea pigs from the local community when we have the room to do so. Sometimes, we will take in super urgent bunnies and hamsters (when we have the space to do so). Guinea pigs are loving little animals that make great pets. So many are waiting in shelters for new homes. We work hard to help as many as we can. If you would like to foster a guinea pig for us, please email us. We will provide the cage, water bottle, dish and hut. Our rescue solely operates on donations, for those of you who would like to donate, please email our rescue and we can set up a place and time to meet to pick up any donations or we have an account at Davis Feed Mills in Perkasie 215-257-4613. Anyone wishing to "call-in" a donation, we purchase bales of 2nd cut timothy hay (9.00), 50lb guinea pig pellets (20.00), and bales of bedding (8.00). You can call in, pay over the phone and they will put it on our account. We really appreciate any donation. Thank you in advance.
***In loving memory of our friend Barbara Kenwood***Thank you Barbara for being a friend to our rescue!! We will miss you!

Come Meet Our Pets...

If you see a guinea pig that you would like to meet and/or adopt, email us so we can set up a date and a time at a public location.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process is done by email. We will email the adoption application. Once the application is reviewed and approved, we will set up a date and time at a public location to complete the adoption. At that time, we require an Adoption Contract to be signed. Our adoption donations are discussed at the time of the application. IF we have spare cages and accessories, they will also be included with adoption. If we do not have spare cages, the adopter must purchase before the adoption is complete.
