Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Harjo has been raised in rescue since day one and is a sweet and gentle boy. His mother is a cream colored Poodle/Schnauzer mix but we have no idea who the sire was....the litter of nine were all brown, and Harjo, the largest is in the litter, is shortcoated and somewhat hound-like in appearance. He is very Poodle-y in his character - a kind, gentle and sensitive boy who wants to connect and can be very cheerful. The mother to this litter comes out of a hoarding situation and was scared of the world when first raising her pups, so they didn't get the best first imprint. Harjo has come along but needs to be more sure of himself and will thrive with gentle encouragement and much socialization. He's very good with other animals and would do well with a stable canine companion. He should mature 30-35 lbs, but this is only a best guess. He is the largest of the batch, and the mom weighs 26 lbs.
THE RIGHT HOME for Harjo will be stable and not hectic, with some experience in raising a puppy and the time to commit to this puppy and his progress in this important growing stage. Harjo is too sensitive and gentle for toddlers, but knows children generally and will do fine with gentle, older kids. Someone well versed in socialization principles and who likes to get out and about with their puppy will suit Harjo best.
