Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you are looking for an unbelievable companion, Scooby could be your boy. Scooby is a 5-7 year old sweet and gentle ~50lb mix who loves to be with his people/person and loves being touched all over – particularly belly rubs. While he loves walks, he is happiest lying at your feet or near you, taking a snooze.
He loves car rides and can be seen with his head out the window and his lips flapping as we drive down I-5. He loves going on walks (we are working up to longer ones) and sniffing, and is very interested in cats, squirrels and rabbits, which we’re not allowed to chase. He is recovering from a sore back, which we’re treating with anti-inflammatories, and is making steady progress, getting stronger and having more stamina on walks. He is learning how to walk on a leash and is making good progress. He can sometimes be unsure when meeting new people – mostly men – and may woof, but feels more comfortable once he’s had a chance to sniff and meet them. He can be stand-offish when meeting larger male dogs, but enjoys meeting females and smaller friends. He has a very gentle mouth and is great in the house, and only needs gentle correction.
Scooby’s ideal home is one where he is with a person or couple who want a fantastic and devoted companion dog, and are willing to help him continue to improve his leash skills, and continue to socialize him. He could be a terrific office dog, if you’re able to take him to work with you. Given that he’s recovering from a sore back, would not recommend putting him with small children, although he appears to be very good with them. A secure fence or enclosed area is a requirement if he’s unsupervised outside, as he is very curious and may want to explore.
